Create your own personalized, confidential IDP.
Fellows must create an IDP within 30 days of their acceptance into the ASCENT program. Affiliates are strongly encouraged to create an IDP. Please note that, once you have completed the self-assessments and IDP creation process, you will only be able to save an electronic copy of your IDP if you are using Google Chrome as your browser. If you are using another browser, you will have the option to print your IDP, but will not be able to save it to your computer.
Some things to consider as you complete your IDP:
1. Be honest with yourself when answering the self-assessment questions.
2. Do not complete the assessments with a particular career in mind. Focus on the skills you actually have, not the ones needed for the career you desire.
3. Make sure the goals you create are SMART: Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
Once you have created your IDP, you will need to complete an IDP Submission Form. Additionally, once you have created your IDP, your mentor will need to submit the IDP Verification Form to certify completion.
