Advancing Computer Science Careers through Enhanced Networking and Training
Enhancing the Postdoctoral Experience.
Inspired by New York City's emerging tech markets and advances in the fields of computer science and engineering, Columbia University, Cornell University, the City University of New York, and New York University have formed a consortium to connect the growing community of computing science and engineering postdocs, entrepreneurs, technology professionals, and senior researchers.
This collaboration provides professional development and increased networking opportunities for its members by implementing several best practice programs in the postdoc, including resources for obtaining funding and getting published, travel awards, the introduction of the Individual Development Plan (IDP), a supplementary curriculum which will help to augment leadership and professional skills, and robust career services. At the end of his or her postdoc period, Fellows will receive ASCENT Certification, provided they have met the requirements. For more information about certification requirements, see Become an ASCENT Fellow.
The program is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation and the Computing Community Consortium.
